Tshirts: Kaba Modern vs. Jabbawockeez

Kaba Modern and the Jabbawockeez must be making a ton off the shirts they’re selling. We all know which crew has better dancers. But who has better style?

Kaba Modern?

or the Jabbawockeez?

Hands down, the Jabbawockeez win again. Their shirts are colorful, bold, easy to read, and unique. Final score: Jabbawockeez (2). Kaba Modern (0).

**If you don’t care and still love ‘em, buy a Kaba Modern shirt here.

***If you have style, get a Jabbawockeez shirt here.

EDIT: In no way do I disrespect either of these crews. I think Kaba Modern is awesome too. But looking from strictly a design point of view, I think the Kaba Modern tshirts aren’t as well designed as the Jabbawockeez shirts. And yes, I know that fans will buy up these shirts no matter what they look like because they stand for something more. And I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but this post was meant as a joke–so please take it lightly.

    Hello,

I’d like to put my vote in for Kaba. I’m a fan of both crews, but as a graphic artist myself, I can see the time and precision put into the design of the Kaba Logo. Anyone can stack type like the Jabba shirt, but it takes creativity to come up with a design like the Kaba logo. If you look at the urbandefined shop, you can tell this cat has design skillz. I do agree that the Jabba shirt stands out more, but I disagree that the Kaba Shirt is ugly, and deserves more credit. My vote goes to Kaba for originality! Just my 2 cents.

    Peace!

Thanks for sharing your opinion! I think logos are one of the hardest things to design. Just the thought that goes behind a logo–an iconic image captured into something simple to represent a whole idea–is really tough to do.

I’ll admit I’m not the best at giving critiques. Calling the design ugly was not right on my part. Let me just explain why I don’t think it works in a more constructive way:

The K.M. enclosed in a circle is very precise and doesn’t really complement the free form of the paint splatter. The two are just so opposite–something so perfect on top of a “random” splatter of paint doesn’t really match. Maybe if the half circle was taken out, it might look a little better.

I checked back to their site and I do really like some of their work. The banner is amazing.

I’d have to say Kaba shirt. The Jabba shirt is cool but the Kaba Modern logo is much more appealing.lol
