NEW Tokidoki for Hello Kitty online now!

The second line of Tokidoki for Hello Kitty is available for purchase off the official tokidoki site. So cute! I think this second line is much better than the first ;)

Hello Kitty Throwup

Ok, I was wrong. This is even crazier than a Hello Kitty themed hospital. How about a Hello Kitty themed wedding?

Ok, seriously. Hello Kitty is only nice when used sparingly. This is just overkill. There is no need for your wedding to look like an amusement park. I feel bad for the husband…can you say, whipped?

There’s a funny blog called Hello Kitty Hell, “from the perspective of a hello kitty fanatic’s husband and the cute overload he endures.”

From his FAQ section:

Does your wife read this blog?

Rarely. When she does, I usually end up on the couch in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag.

What do your friends think of your wife’s Hello Kitty obsession?

They think “Wow, my life could be a whole lot worse. Thank your wife for making me realize this.”

Remember, a hello kitty obsession is okay when it’s in moderation. It only becomes unhealthy when it starts to intrude into other people’s lives.

Kimora Lee Simmons for Hello Kitty = Fabulosity

I was doing some research for my xmas wish list this year. And this is at the very top of my list:

Kimora for HK

Hello Kitty jewelery! But it comes at a very steep price. Fabulosity is NOT cheap. You can find Kimora Lee Simmon’s collection online here. There’s also another sweet collection, Hello Kitty by Simmons Jewlery Co., available online at Zales. I happened to stop by a jewelery store the other day to check out the bling HK rings, and they look so much better in person. I was in Hello Kitty heaven.

Hello Kitty® Sterling Silver Silhouette Pendant with Diamonds and Pink Sapphires

Princess Kitty Collection

Now who’s gonna be my sugardaddy and buy me all of these fabulous pieces? :D

Hello Kitty + Obama Tshirt

Another cute Obama tshirt by artist Tom Sachs:

…except this one is a whopping $60 @ Collete.

So why did Tom Sachs decide to join Hello Kitty and Obama on this momentous occasion? 2 reasons:

1. Obama love. He’s an American artist.

2. Extreme Hello Kitty love. He recently created life-size sculptures of Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters that are now on exhibit in Paris.

Images courtesy of highsnobiety.

The bronze Hello Kitty statue is actually a fountain with water pouring out of her eyes:

According to Schema Magazine,

Sachs describes Hello Kitty as a “pure merchandising icon” with “an almost Buddhist sense of nothingness.”

And back in 1994, Sachs substituted Hello Kitty for the baby Jesus in a 1994 Barneys Christmas window. Pure genius!

Spotted: Hello Kitty at TJMaxx

If you’re a true asian and yo momma raised you, when shopping you either a) always always buy something on sale and NEVER at full price or b) go crazy at TJ Maxx.

Cute HK

TJ Maxx is like heaven for my Chinese mom. She’s the biggest bargain-hunter around. I always like shopping there because you can find some pretty insane deals. The other day I bought these high-waisted button shorts on clearance for $5.00 plus another 25% taken off at the register making it a grand total of only $3.75. Don’t get me wrong, there is your share of ugly, out-of-season inventory. But if you look close enough, you can find some cute trendy pieces.

For some reason, TJ Maxx always has a section for Hello Kitty. If you go to the womens’ lingerie department, they always have cute HK pajamas, discounted for around $15–for a full top/bottom set. Last time I was there, they were also selling some fuzzy robes. So if you’re also a fellow bargain hunger + HK lover…make a trip to TJ Maxx and get your money’s worth. Make yo momma proud!
