Just got an email from a friend that Mochi Magazine, a new quarterly print publication for and by Asian and Asian-American teenage girls, is looking to hire. The magazine will include articles about fashion, health, relationships, college, careers and more.
Here’s their mission off the website:
Mochi Magazine provides a community for Asian and Asian-American teenage girls to access sisterly advice and gain self-esteem. Articles, essays, and stories written by peers in high school allow girls to see how other girls cope with similar issues. Articles written by college women, young professionals, and other role models provide inspiration.
My friend is the new Director of Marketing and says this is kind of like a Teen Vogue for Asians. If you’re interested…please apply! I’ll share part of the email my friend sent out:
…there are currently lots of positions still available (like Web design, fashion staff, advertising representative, makeup staff, editorial staff, more more and more) Look specifically at www.mochimag.com/getinvolved for the application. Also, their Editorial Advisory Board has some pretty impressive professionals.
We’re looking to close to application process in the next 2 weeks, so let me know if you have any questions. The girls we have on staff right now are extremely smart, so nice and enthusiastic about getting this new magazine on shelves starting in the summer (so we need all the help we can get!).
This looks like a really great opportunity. Since this is a start-up, the positions are non-paid internships. But I think the job will actually be fun and worth your time! Go Asian American Girls!
